My only complaint: I dropped one in the grass and since it is the same color of green, I had a hard time finding it. Easy to use and the accuracy is a plus plus plus to the product. Maybe orange would be better. Great product. This is my first time to use such a product and I'm telling anyone who has ever done siding that this is the only way to go.
My husband is residing our entire two story house on his own-and I don't have to stand outside and hold the pieces of siding while he's working on it, this is great. It is very accurate and a great idea.
I can do the job with no help and if you have help it makes it even easier. I would not do siding again without this tool, it is expensive but after a day with it you will agree it keeps your siding at the correct measurement and holds it for you.
Until Pactool fixes this, if you're hanging beaded siding, I recommend you try the gauges that hang from the top edge. This tool works very well on flat cement siding, but poorly on beaded edge siding. The tool kicks so far away from the plank when tightened that the next course will usually slip off the tool.
To not have these, would make the job a lot harder. First time siding person, doing thier own house during a time of layoff from work. These guides allow me to do a professional job, easy, fast.
